Another Garth Fagan Dancer
receives a Bessie Award!

Congratulations to Sharon Skepple of Garth Fagan Dance, who has been awarded a New York Dance and Performance Award, or "Bessie."

A member of Garth Fagan Dance since 1988, Skepple received the "Bessie" for her performance in the company's 1998-99 concerts at the Joyce Theater in New York. Skepple is featured in Fagan's Telling a Story, Moth Dreams, and Griot New York, among others. The Bessie was given in recognition of "a spectacular marriage of technical command and sensuous grace, a dancer and spirit unleashed throughout the choreography of Garth Fagan." A native of Antigua, West Indies, Skepple teaches classes for the company at their downtown Rochester studio.

Skepple joins four other Garth Fagan Dancers who have received "Bessies."
