SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES STIPENDS RECIPIENTS

The Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester and New York Foundation for the Arts announce the recipients of Special Opportunity Stipends (S.O.S.) in the Genesee Valley/Finger Lakes Region. The program provides stipends for artists to take advantage of opportunities that will help further their careers.

Fourteen (14) visual, performing and literary artists will receive a total of $4,600 in funding. New York State Council on the Arts through the New York Foundation funds the Special Opportunity Stipend program for the Arts. The program is administered by the Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester in association with area arts councils.

The S.O.S. advisory panel for these stipends included: Kelly Kiebala, Genesee/Orleans Arts Council; Thomas Warfield, dance & music; Heidi Lux Santelli, Wayne County Council for the Arts, writer/visual arts; Richard St. George, SUNY Brockport, theatre, Paul Stuart, music; Vladimir Abad, visual art/sculpture; Jim Scholes, literature and theater.
