Conference to Highlight Role of Innovation and Creativity for Community’s Future
Innovation Conference Series: Connecting Creativity to Regional Success

Rochester, N.Y., Nov. 29, 2005 – The Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester is bringing together leaders from Rochester, Cincinnati, Washington DC, and Toronto to talk about the role of innovation and creativity in our region’s economic future and community vitality. The Innovation Conference Series: Connecting Creativity to Regional Success will take place December 7, 2005 from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM at the Hyatt Regency Rochester.
As Rochester prepares to take on major revitalization and economic investment, the arts, science, business, education, and government sectors need to come together to help build a competitive, sustainable and livable city in the 21st century.
“December 7th launches our new quarterly Innovation Conference Series,” said Sarah Lentini, president and CEO of the Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester. “It promises to be exciting, thought-provoking, and the beginning of many dialogues about our community’s future. We will be bringing together leaders from Rochester and other cities who are implementing bold and interesting models to shift mindsets in their cities and across the country.”
County Executive Maggie Brooks, Mayor-Elect Robert Duffy, and New York State Senator Joseph E. Robach will present their visions for Rochester’s future. The panel will be moderated by Susan R. Holliday, President and Publisher of the Rochester Business Journal.
Keynote speaker, Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks will provide a presentation on the latest concept for Renaissance Square.
Other speakers include Gary P. Steuer, Vice President, Private-Sector Affairs and Executive Director, Arts and Business Council of Amercians for the Arts; Mary McCullough-Hudson, President & CEO, Fine Arts Fund, Cincinnati, OH; Stephanie Brown Clark M.D., Ph.D, Assistant Professor, University of Rochester Medical Center, Division of Medical Humanities; Claire Hopkinson, Executive Director, Toronto Arts Council; William and Teresa Cochran, Co-founders, Shared Vision: Public Art for Community Transformation, Alexandria, VA.
