Arts & Cultural Council Announces
2007 Arts Awards Recipients
October 25 th Luncheon at DoubleTree Hotel to Honor Seven Outstanding Individuals and Organizations Who Have Made an Impact on our Region
Rochester , NY , August 23, 2007 – The Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester is pleased to announce the 2007 Arts Awards honorees. On Thursday, October 25, 2007, arts, cultural, and civic leaders will salute the seven recipients of the Arts & Cultural Council’s distinguished award, bestowed each year on individuals and organizations that have made a significant, demonstrable contribution to the growth and well-being of the greater Rochester cultural community. The Arts Council received over 30 nominations for the 2007 Annual Arts Awards.
The recipients of the 2007 Arts Awards are:

Champion of the Arts Award (Individual)

Rochester ’s creative community is impressive,” says Sarah E. Lentini, president and CEO of the Arts & Cultural Council. “Our region has great strength, depth and richness in its cultural sector, evidenced by its world-class artists and cultural institutions. This event provides our community with an important opportunity to show our appreciation to these outstanding leaders.”
2007 marks the 24 th year of the Arts Awards. Previous recipients include: Wendell Castle, Eastman Kodak Company, Garth Fagan Dance, George Eastman House, Memorial Art Gallery, Albert Paley, Linda Sue Park, Ramon Santiago, Joanna Scott, and Christopher Seaman.
Recipients were selected by the Arts & Cultural Council’s awards committee, comprised of Grace Tillinghast, Chair; Lynne Feldman; Charlotte Herrera; Don Jeffries; and Nancy Sands.
