Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester Announces 2002 Board Members

Rochester, NY July 10, 2002- The Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester is pleased to announce that the following new members were elected to the Board of Directors on May 2, 2002:

Betsy Harrison (Honeoye Falls), President & CEO, Genesee Country Village & Museum. Betsy Harrison joined the staff of Genesee Country Village & Museum in 1999, following several years of Service on the museum's Board of Trustees. She is a past board chair of Strong Museum and Hochstein Music School, has served on the board of the Memorial Art Gallery and is currently a board member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Betsy holds a BA in Political Science and a Master's Degree in Public Administration. Betsy and her husband, John, live in Honeoye Falls with their two daughters.

Leonard Urso (Scottsville), Professor, College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, Rochester Institute of Technology. Leonard Urso is actively involved in creating large and small scale sculptures, paintings, and silver jewelry. His art is exhibited internationally in museums, corporate, and private collections including the Art Institute of Chicago, Memorial Art Gallery of Rochester, Shanghai University, Kanazawa University of Japan, The New York Times, Colgate University, Bausch & Lomb World Headquarters and The Washington Post. Leonard holds an endowed chair as the Ann Mowris Mulligan Distinguished Professor in the School of American Crafts at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Laurie Ching Walter (Fairport), General Manager, Stickley, Audi & Co. Laurie Walter studied Fine Art at Syracuse University and Modern Dance with Muriel Manning, taught Modern Dance, Creative Movement & Pre/Post-Natal Exercise at Syracuse YWCA and DeWitt Jewish Community Center. Volunteer affiliations include Alternatives for Battered Women and Center for Youth Services. Professionally, Laurie was a District Manager and National Corporate Trainer/ Recruiter/ Speaker for a division of Limited, Inc., and is currently the General Manager of Stickley, Audi & Co.

The Board of Directors also elected the following Officers:
