Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester
Announces Community Arts Grants Available to Region’s Nonprofit Organizations
August 23, 2005 Rochester, NY --The Arts and Cultural Council for Greater Rochester announces that Community Art Grants totaling approximately $85,000 are available to nonprofit organizations throughout the region. The grants are for programs to be completed in 2006. The deadline for applying is Thursday, November 10, 2005. The maximum grant is $5,000.
There are two types of grants available: The Arts & Cultural Council’s Decentralization Grants, funded in partnership with the New York State Council on the Arts, support nonprofit organizations in Monroe County for arts related programs that serve Monroe County residents.
The Arts Council’s Capacity Building Grants, funded in partnership with Rochester Area Community Foundation, support projects that will improve an organization’s management, develop audiences, strengthen fundraising and/or achieve operating efficiencies through shared resources and is for arts organizations with budgets of less than $400,000 in Monroe, Wayne, Ontario, Livingston, Genesee or Orleans County.
Any organizations planning to apply for a Community Arts Grant must register to attend one of eight grant seminars scheduled during the month of September. Attendance at a seminar is mandatory. No exceptions will be made. Walk-ins may be unable to attend if the session is fully reserved.
