Arts & Cultural Council Announces Date for 2008 Arts Awards Luncheon;
Issues Call for Nominations

Rochester , NY , March 11, 2008 – The Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester’s 25th Annual Arts Awards luncheon will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency Rochester. A reception will begin at 11:15 a.m. followed by the luncheon at 12:00 p.m.

“The Arts Awards Luncheon is the largest annual gathering of greater Rochester cultural leaders, artists, and arts patrons from every discipline,” says Sarah Lentini, President and CEO of the Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester. “The luncheon celebrates the accomplishments and impact of our region’s impressive cultural industry, which is especially important as we work to market the region.”

The Arts & Cultural Council invites nominations of individuals and organizations that have made a significant contribution to greater Rochester’s arts and culture community. Nominations may be made in one or more of the following categories:

Artist of the Year
An individual artist who has made a significant contribution to the arts in our community. Artists in any of the following disciplines are eligible: literary, media, visual or performing arts.

Organization of the Year
An organization or institution that has made a profound impact on arts and culture in our community through programming and/or education initiatives.

Champion of the Arts
An individual, business or foundation that has made significant contributions or provided major support for arts and culture through patronage, volunteerism, philanthropy, programming, education, and/or advocacy.
