GRANT SEMINAR ON OCTOBER 1 FOR THE
"EDUCATION THROUGH THE ARTS" GRANTS PROGRAM
ROCHESTER, NY – Schools and cultural organizations are invited to find out how to apply for the “Education through the Arts” grant program at a Grant
Seminar on October 1, 2002 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at the Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester, 277 N. Goodman St., Rochester.
$10,000 is available in matching grants of up to $2,000 for schools and cultural groups to develop and implement new arts in education programming.
The deadline for proposals is Friday, November 1, 2002 for programs that take place in the Spring 2003 school year. New this year, the program will be offering a second round of funding with a deadline of June 1, 2003 for projects taking place in fall 2003 or spring 2004; and a deadline of November 1, 2003 for projects in spring 2004.
“Education through the Arts” grants program (formerly the Artists Residencies in the Schools) is designed to encourage artists, teachers, administrators, and parents to collaborate on well-planned partnership programs that involve interdisciplinary art programs in a curriculum. The program is funded by the Local Capacity Building Initiative, a regrant program of the Arts in Education Program of the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester.
