New York Arts & Business Council Will Offer Two Marketing and Public Relations Workshops in Rochester
Rochester, NY May 7, 2002- The Arts & Business Council of New York City will partner with the Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester to offer two workshops on marketing and public relations in Rochester. "Buzz Marketing - Making Word of Mouth Work for You" and "Making PR Work for You" will take place on Friday, May 31, 2002 at Writers & Books, 740 University Avenue, Rochester, NY.
From 9:30 a.m - 1:00 p.m., "Buzz Marketing - Making Word of mouth Work for you." What is "the buzz"? What does it take for your organization to attract "the buzz"? How is it related to marketing? This interactive workshop will offer an overview of planning, marketing and branding in order for your organization to develop techniques for increased cohesive word of mouth communication.
From 2:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., "Making PR Work for You." How to achieve your PR goals including realistic goals, effective communication plans, and timesaving methods for increased publicity. The workshop will also address press conferences, crisis communication, developing relationships with the press, do's and don'ts, and working with limited resources.
The cost of each workshop is $30 for Members of the Arts and Cultural Council for Greater Rochester and participating arts councils in the Greater Rochester Region, and $35 for Non-members.
Both workshops will be led by Susan Koblin Schear, President of ArtIsIn, LLC. Ms. Schear founded the company in 1995 to offer comprehensive business development and management services to visual and performing artists, arts organizations and arts related businesses. She brings more than fifteen years of management expertise to this venture.
Ms. Schear regularly teaches at New York University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies, Marketing and Management Institute, Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.), AWED, Support Center for Nonprofit Management, Arts and Business Council of New York, New Jersey Small Business Development Centers, and at various industry specialty groups, galleries, associations and schools.
