KUUMBA KIDS PRESENT UMOJA, THE MAGIC HORSE

Rochester, N.Y. May 9, 2001 Umoja, The Magical Horse, a performance by the Kuumba Kids after school arts program will take place on Thursday, May 17, 2001 at 7 p.m at School #4 198 Bronson Street, Rochester.

Umoja is the Swahili word for unity. As we come together to celebrate the life contributions of the Honorable Willie W. Lightfoot by dedicating the performance to his memory. Kuumba Kids, a program of the Arts & Cultural Council in collaboration with SWAN, is an arts program designed to help children get in touch with their own creativity. Kuumba means creativity in Swahili and this after school program instills knowledge and pride in African American culture.
