The Association of Teaching Artists Organizational Meeting
March 24, 2001
The Association of Teaching Artists, a statewide professional organization devoted to the development and support of artists who work in schools, will host it first Regional Vision Quest Meeting on March
24, 2001 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Arts & Cultural Council, 277 North Goodman Street, Rochester.
Recently a statewide group of individual artists formed the organization, Association of Teaching Artists (ATA). This is the first professional organization of its kind in the United States.
Whether you are a veteran teaching artist or new to the field, you are invited to this ATA Vision Quest meeting at the Arts and Cultural Council. At this meeting colleagues and peers of teaching artists will
discuss issues of concern to each other, to the Arts In Education field, and demonstrate why forming a coalition will help to strengthen each others work as individual artists. The meeting will raise awareness of Arts In Education as a professional field. The meeting will be followed by an informal lunch, allowing artists to meet each other as colleagues.
Veteran Teaching Artists Dale Davis and Diane Gallo will facilitate the meeting.
There is a $10.00 fee to defray the cost and for lunch. Participants are urged to register in advance by sending name, address, and their $10.00 to:
ATA, P.O. Box 106, Gilbertsville, New York 13776
