The Arts In Education Roundtable Presents
The Assets Project
The Arts in Education Roundtable presents The Assets Project on Thursday, December 7, 2000 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at Rochester Museum & Science Center, 657 East Avenue. The program is free and open to all those interested in the arts and education.
The Assets Project operates with a grant from the New York State Department of Education to develop assessments for students meeting the one unit for Dance, Music, Art, and Theatre. Jeanne Gray will lead a panel of participants in the development and testing of assessment mediums. The members of the panel represent those involved in the development and testing of the various items on the assessment instrument. Two of the panel members are Gail Nelli, chair for theatre and Nancy Gilfoil for music.
Other workshops sponsored by the Arts in Education Roundtable are: Assessment for Afterschool Programs: Using as models Kuumba Kids and the Photo Club at James Madison School of Excellence (run by Community Darkroom). Both programs are funded by the Arts & Cultural Council through funding from the United Way. Monday, January 29th, 2001 from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., Memorial Art Gallery.

The Arts in Education Roundtable is a consortia of arts organizations, artists, teachers, education administrators, parents and others interested in making the arts basic to education. The Arts & Cultural Council for Greater Rochester sponsors the Roundtable.
