| History of the Site
This web site is the fruit of a unique collaboration between Rochester's arts and cultural organizations, WXXI (a local PBS affiliate) and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). With the help of the Ad Council and ICE Communications, www.artsrochester.org has evolved into a multi-faceted web site that promotes the cultural resources of Rochester, New York.
It all started with CAROL
RIT Information Technology (IT) professors began building web sites for museums in the spring of 1994, when professor Gordon Goodman's class built an initial Genesee Country Village & Museum site as part of "Topics in Interactive Multimedia" a graduate level course offered as part of RIT/IT's Certificate in Multimedia Production. In the spring of 1995, the classes of both Professor Goodman and Professor Stephen Jacobs worked on the initial web site for the George Eastman House.
