 Past 2007 networking events:

Wednesday, June 6, 2007: "Creativity, Connections, and Curiosity:  OneArtist’s Classroom Journey." Artist and musician Paul Swiatek of Brighton had a great teaching idea: Why not help kids learn about local history by having them write and produce a CD of songs about the Erie Canal?  It went so well that he’s got this year’s class learning math and social studies by designing and building dulcimers.

Don’t miss this rich story of discovery, collaboration, and finding your way in the land of arts in education .

“Come let your dreams grow in the sunshine
Dark clouds aren’t always what they seem
Raindrops feed the roots that feed tomorrow
Clinton ’s ditch became the Erie Canal and it was Jessie Hawley’s dream

From “Jesse Hawley’s Dream” by Paul Swiatek and Meg Vecchi’s 4th grade class from Canandaigua Elementary with assistance from Ed Varno, Ontario County Historian
