Each issue of Metropolitan features articles and in-depth profiles related to all of the arts and a broad cross-section of our community, including history, science, business, and education. In addition, Metropolitan contains a three-month cultural events calendar, further extending the life and readership of the magazine.

Metropolitan is mailed directly to thousands of area residents and businesses, and distributed at over 200 locations throughout the region, including professional offices, hotels, cultural venues, and select retailers, such as Wegmans.

OF THE WINTER 2012 ISSUE

Winter 2012 Cover
Summer, 9x12 oil on masonite (detail) by Brian O’Neill, embodies the energy, freedom and color harmony of the painting’s seasonal namesake. “The quality of light drives the story here as it moves effortlessly through the scallions and embraces the vibrant fresh tomato that brings any viewer into the heart and soul of those warm, carefree days when all troubles seem to just float away,” says O’Neill. The image was assembled and inspired on the front porch of the artist’s Park Avenue neighborhood home, where he and his partner spent “many peaceful and happy summer days.” Summer was recently selected as a “Top 50 Finalist” in The American Chinese Oil Painters Artists League’s Open Competition.
